LOUDON, N.H., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 – Steve Park qualified second for the Sylvania 200 at New Hampshire International Speedway Sept. 18 but had to start in the back of the field due to an engine change during practice. He finished 14th and moved up one spot to 11th in the point standings with 2,196 points. He is 427 points behind leader Bobby Hamilton and 67 points out of 10th.
STEVE PARK: "We had a good truck yesterday in practice, and we were off a little bit today. When we got out front and led laps, we knew we could not make it on gas. A lot of guys pitted on 117 or 118. We probably could have pitted on 118 and topped off and made it, but we didn't and lost track position and lost the nose a little bit and struggled from there. We didn't make the right calls in the pits. We should have pitted and put ourselves in position to be up front. Our times weren't that bad. We were just killed on track position. There wasn't a lot of passing going on today. We'll pick up the pieces and go to Las Vegas and try to win us one out there at home for the Orleans Racing Dodge team.”
