Notes of Interest:
With this being only Park’s second shot at the Memphis Motorsports Park it’s a little early to say whether it is one of his favorite tracks just yet. That’s not to say it might not be as in 2004, in his first outing, Park scored an 11th place finish in the Orleans Racing Dodge.
Park On Memphis:
“Last year was the first time I’ve raced there. Besides it being hot we had a good Orleans Dodge when we went there. We’re looking to use what I learned being there for the first time last year and improving on that. Just the fans themselves are impressive. They love racing.”
IT MUST HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A RACE AT KENTUCKY WHERE YOU DIDN’T GET RUN INTO. – “It was nice having a weekend off. As a team it gives us a chance to get reloaded for the next couple of races. I think it’s been well documented that I’ve had some trucks torn up in the last couple of weeks and it gave the guys in the shop time to get things fixed up, reload and come on strong these last few races.”
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO GRACELAND? – “I have. I’m probably going back to Graceland. My girlfriend hasn’t been there and she’s going to be in Memphis with us. So I’m probably going to go to Graceland and check it out again. I think it’s also known that I’m a pretty big Elvis fan, so you don’t have to twist my arm to hand to go to Graceland. The Peabody Hotel is something that we’d like to see, too. We’ll go to Beale Street, too for some live entertainment. So there’s a lot to do in Memphis besides racing. But probably one of our favorite things we like to see is racing at Memphis Motorsports Park.”
