Steve Park Post Race Report - Mansfield
The Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway was a crash-filled event but it wasn't on track trouble that
prevented Steve Park from posting at least a top 10 finish. Instead it was a problem under the hood that
interfered with a great run by the Orleans Racing driver and his No. 62 Dodge.
Park started 19th on the grid and immediately began his forward march through the field.
A well-timed pit stop during the sixth caution of the day put Park in a position to be running as high as
sixth with 100 laps to go and had the team optimistic that a top-five finish was in the cards for the
Orleans Racing Dodge.
The optimism was damped however when driver, Steve Park radioed in that his truck was beginning to falter. Park ran as long as he could, rather than give up track position, but he was forced to pit road with less than 30 laps to go. Suspecting electrical issues the team changed the battery and sent Park out with four fresh Goodyear tires.
Park got up on the wheel, trying to dig out of the hole caused by the electrical issue, but with too few laps left on the scoring pylon Park’s strong finish turned into a 20th place effort.
